M. Raven Townsend is a Trained Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Herbalist, and Advanced Yoga Teacher with over two decades of experience weaving together Yoga, Ayurveda, and Ancient Wisdom. Her background includes professional herbalism, workshops, and college-level yoga instruction, as well as operating a herbal medicine store that supports holistic living. Raven provides Ayurvedic health consultations rooted in tradition, education, and practical lifestyle guidance.
She completed in-residence yoga teacher training at Yandara Yoga Institute in 2005, followed by Ayurvedic Practitioner training at the California College of Ayurveda, with professional certification with NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor. Raven also certified as an advanced yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance and is a YACEP provider (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). She offers customized programs integrating the wisdom of Yoga & Ayurveda. Lifelong learning is a core value to her and she is currently enrolled in the advanced Professional Ayurvedic Herbalist certification with KP Khalsa’s International Integrative Educational Institute.
Alongside her passion for natural living, she established a successful career in project management with PMP and PMO-CP certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI) where she led teams developing online learning platforms. She holds formal degrees of Master of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Management, and a Professional Certificate in Web Design & Development. She completed two enlistments in the US military where she traveled extensively to various locations.
She is also an identical twin, and her sister volunteers with the operations. Together, they manage their 8th generation home place in the hills of Virginia, which is the location of Townsend Draft Goods. Combining Science and Mysticism drives her endeavors.
